We are very pleased to be returning to Europe's favourite retreat centre this summer.

In Sabina is a perfect location for a week of yoga, sun, natural beauty and relaxation. This is a peaceful, beautiful property ideally suited to developing spiritual practice, with a lovely outdoor yoga platform and indoor yoga space. There will be two Hatha Yoga classes a day where each individual will have the opportunity to practice at his or her own level making the week suitable for students of different abilities. Three meals are served daily (with one evening meal out at a local restaurant) and we have plenty of free time to relax, swim, read, sleep, take massages or explore the local villages and countryside.



In Sabina sits in the Sabine Hills among the olive groves and rolling hills of the Italian countryside, an hour north of Rome. The seven acres of grounds are lush and abundant with a natural spring, gardens, swimming pool and fruit trees.



Two beautifully restored 17th century stone buildings contain rooms in a simple, natural style creating a calm, comfortable and practical environment. Three terraces overlook beautiful vistas, ideal for relaxing and watching the stunning sunsets. There are indoor and outdoor spaces for yoga, meditation and reading. The medieval village of Torri in Sabina (1000 inhabitants) is 3 kilometres away.



The Teachers and The Yoga

Together, Laura and Finlay Hinde run The Yoga Hall in St Albans, England. They are both very experienced and devoted teachers who have studied and taught for many years worldwide. Their approach to yoga is based on individual study, as well as the teachings of Faustomaria (Innergy Yoga), Gurmukh Khalsa and the Sivananda Vedanta Forest Academy. They are able to give individual attention to students making the retreat suitable for all levels.



There will be two Yoga classes and one meditation session daily.

Through the physical practice of Hatha Yoga and Kundalini Yoga we learn how to relate to the physical body with acceptance, and so develop strength and confidence in our own reality, releasing old habits, unhelpful patterns and fully engaging in our natural evolution.





Before breakfast, a half hour of pranayama and meditation opens the day. Morning classes will be more dynamic and strengthening Hatha Yoga, clearing the nadis, allowing the free-flow of prana. Afternoon/evening sessions will be Kundalini Yoga; breath, mudras, eye-focus, mantra, body-locks and postures to bring balance to your mind, body and soul.

As well as Hatha Yoga and Kundalini Yoga, we explore Raja Yoga, Jnana Yoga and Bhakti Yoga –
with at least one evening set aside for Kirtan (singing old melodies to focus our minds and hearts).



Food

The teachers have hired a freelance chef who cooks vegetarian meals with local produce.
Please notify us at the time of booking if you require a gluten-free, dairy-free or vegan diet.



Accommodation

The main houses comfortably accommodate 19 students. Three bedrooms have their own bathrooms; one has its own loo and basin, others share bathrooms between two rooms. Furnishings and fabrics complement the buildings and their setting creating a calm and comfortable environment. Additionally, there are 3 yurt tents.



Massage and Treatments

There will be a range of therapeutic massages available.



Activities and Excursions

The area is rich in history and natural beauty. We will organise a walk in the hills and a trip to a river for some outdoor swimming or just to dip your feet. For those who wish to be independent or to explore the area we recommend hiring a car at the airport.  The following places are within easy access of Torri in Sabina and easily reached by car:

Rome – 45 minutes
Orvieto – 1 hour
Siena – 2 hours
Assisi – 2 hours

What is included

Meals (except on one evening when we go out to a local restaurant),
all yoga classes, yoga mats, blankets and cushions, linens and bath towels.

What is not included

Flights to Italy and transfers to In Sabina,
excursions, massage and other treatments.

What to bring

Light loose clothing for yoga, walking shoes,
swimming costume and towel for the pool.



Transportation and transfers

The earliest arrival time at In Sabina is 16.30 on the Saturday 19th August.

We can arrange for a minibus to collect you from Fiumicino (Leonardo da Vinci) Airport at about 16:30 (€170 for up to 8 passengers, €250 for up to 16), in plenty of time for dinner at In Sabina at 19:30. You should book your flights as early as possible, as flight prices rise steeply over time.

In Sabina is within easy access of Rome and its airports. It is approximately one hour from the centre of the city (by car or train) and around 1 hours drive from both airports. If you are travelling by train from Fiumicino, you can take a train from directly inside the airport. Follow the signs to the Stazione. Buy a ticket (about €8) for Stimigliano, the Orte train, which leaves at 57 minutes past the hour. Before you reach the platform validate your ticket by inserting it in one of the yellow machines to be stamped. When you know which train you will be on, text Finlay on +44 7958 927946 or call Giulia at In Sabina on +39 340 3876028. Get off at Stimigliano (1 hours and 50 mins) where we will pick you up. The stations are not well signposted so be alert and aware of the time.

From Ciampino airport, you will need to take the bus to Termini station in the centre of Rome (€10) and from there the Metro (M) to Tiburtina station (4 stops, €1). From Tiburtina take the Terni train, getting off at Stimigliano (around €3, just under an hour) where we will pick you up. When you know which train you will be on, text Finlay on +44 7958 927946 or call Giulia at In Sabina on +39 340 3876028. The stations are not well signposted so be alert and aware of the time. This whole journey can take 2 to 3 hours.

The latest departure time from In Sabina is 10.00am on Saturday 26th August.

In addition to the £250 deposit, the remainder of the cost of the holiday is due in Euros on arrival;

Refunds for cancellations are at our discretion and cannot be returned if a cancellation is made less than 5 weeks before the holiday (or after 15th July).
