Yin Yoga is a slow, quiet practice where poses (typically floor-based) are held for several minutes. We allow the body to soften and relax while we are tuning into the internal aspects of each pose – bodily sensations, breath, thoughts, emotions. We are practicing skills such as patience, mindfulness, and surrender.
Yin Yoga is the perfect complement to active and dynamic yoga styles, a calming treat to release stresses and tensions. Yin is a practice which helps cultivate inner peace and contentment. On a physical level, Yin helps maintain the health of connective tissues, fascia, joints, ligaments, tendons and bones.
Previous yoga experience is recommended. Modifications to poses are being offered to make sure every practitioner enjoys the benefits of the class.
Our weekly classes on Fridays are currently only on Zoom.
