Yoga Nidra is a path that takes us back to our own hearts. It is a guided process for entering into an effortless state of being where the mind drops away. Although Yoga Nidra is often described as ‘effortless sleep’, paradoxically it is more about awakening.
In Yoga Nidra, the body does not move. As you drop into stillness your physical body actually falls asleep, while your mind stays alert. Yoga Nidra will meet you wherever you are. It is an excellent stress reliever and helps with insomnia, anxiety, depression and pain management. It can be used as a tool to make space for creativity to emerge. Yoga Nidra is also a form of self-enquiry; it is a direct experience that helps us to come to our own knowing.
We will usually begin with a combination of energy releasing sequences, joint freeing movement, breath work, sound and mudra. The session will include either one long or two short Yoga Nidras.
