Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra or yogic ‘sleep’ invites the nervous system to let go and deeply rest. It is a nourishing and gentle guided meditation for entering into an effortless state of being.
In Yoga Nidra, the body lies down. As you drop into stillness your physical body actually falls asleep, while your mind stays alert and follows the process. Sometimes the conscious mind falls asleep too, but the benefits of the practice are still felt.
Yoga Nidra will meet you where you are. It is a wonderful stress reliever and also helps with insomnia, low mood and pain management.
The Yoga Nidra scripts vary in imagery, but are often intimately connected to the natural world. All Nidras include a rotation of consciousness, guiding the mind around points inside the physical body.
We usually begin with a meditation and then an optional check in where you are invited to tune in to your intention for the Yoga Nidra.
This year (2024) the dates are on the Wednesdays closest to the new moon where the still, inward focused cosmic energy facilitates relaxing into the state of awareness which is Yoga Nidra.
