Come dressed for class where you can, to limit the use of the changing room.
Our brown base mats will be distanced to allow 2 metres between each person.
Please roll out your own mat on top and observe social distancing (1 metre minimum) around The Yoga Hall.
Please do not come if you feel unwell.
“Rest is a revolutionary act!” Uma Dinsmore-Tuli
Restorative Yoga is the use of props to support the body in positions of ease to facilitate deep relaxation and health. In deep rest, Restorative Yoga poses involve ‘opening’ rather than ‘stretching’. The session will include long relaxed poses of between 10 and 20 minutes long.
Restorative Yoga is good for everyone, including people who have little or no experience of Yoga, pregnant and postpartum women. Restorative Yoga is equally important for experienced yoga practitioners, who may benefit from weaving in this quiet, inward practice with a more dynamic one.
Restorative Yoga poses help relieve the effects of stress. Each restorative sequence is designed to move the spine in all directions and usually includes an inverted pose and a twist. Restorative Yoga balances Prana (upwards energy) and Apana (downwards energy) making sure you are neither overstimulated or depleted.
Joining This Workshop
You can arrive from 1:45pm and we will start at the usual time of 2pm. The class will end at 4pm and if you like you can stay for another half an hour so that we can have our usual tea, cookies and check in. Alternatively, if you prefer to go inwards after the class, there is no need to stay when we finish at 4pm.
Please bring your own mat, and if you have one, your own eye pillow. In addition to those, you will be able to use our other props, after which they will need to be left unused for 3 days, when they will be safe to use again.
In our uncertain times, we are taking the bold step of inviting you to join our classes in a spirit of generosity. It must be worthwhile, dynamic and sustainable. We want you to feel welcome to participate, and we also need to cover The Yoga Hall’s costs. You are the one who identifies your contribution. The suggested price honourably covers the “hard marginal costs” of your participation. Those who contribute more (thank you!) make it possible to include some who cannot. Some valued participants can only afford a lower amount. Just go ahead and identify it, down to £15. We are very excited to welcome you as part of this courageous and generous community!
(Suggested Full price from 26th July will be £30, minimum price £20)
When you have purchased this access ticket you will receive an email receipt with a password as proof of purchase.
